iCOV

Anti-Bacterial . Anti-Fungal . Zero VOC . Non-Reactive

Ecostic iCOV is a Range of Active Anti-Microbial Surfaces Suitable for Hygiene Critical Spaces like Health Care Facilities, Testing Laboratories, and Educational Institutes like Schools and Colleges.

How does Ecostic iCOV work ?

Active Silver Ions as a Native Ingredient

Active silver ions are incorporated as a native ingredient within the composition of iCOV. This not only prevents microbial growth, but also extends the effectiveness of external cleaning agents used for disinfecting the space.

Active Silver Ion Technology

Ecostic iCov is coated with nanoparticles of silver that releases active silver ions. The surface gets activated with silver ions when moisture directly interacts with the wall. Silver ions are biologically active to bacteria and other microbes. They interact by attaching to the cell membrane of the bacteria and react with sulphur-containing proteins in the membrane. It will further penetrate inside the bacteria and react with phosphorus-containing compounds like DNA and attack the respiratory chain and cell division, leading to death of the bacterial cell.

Active Silver ions coated on the surface of iCOV penetrate the cell membrane of microbes after getting activated due to ambient moisture.

Active silver ion destabilizes the cell membrane of microbes by restricting the respiration process of cells, whilst blocking the replication of DNA.

Helps Keep Room Fresher & Cleaner

Silver ion-based anti-microbial protection is resistant to the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, this can damage the aesthetic and structural integrity of a wall. iCOV wall covers incorporated with active silver ions restrict the ability of microbes to survive on the surface wall cover.

Effective Against Bacteria by up to 99.99%

The use of silver-ion-based anti-microbial technology will prohibit bacterial growth and survival when it interacts with iCOV. This technology has proven effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant MRSA, E.coli, and VRE.

Resistant to the Growth of Mold and Mildew

iCOV will work to inhibit the growth of unsightly mold and mildew.

Safe for Use in a Variety of Environments

Active silver ion additives are registered and notified with key regulatory bodies for application-appropriate use, including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the United States and the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) in the EU.

Reduces the Risk of Cross Contamination

Active silver ion as a product enhancing technology makes iCOV inherently cleaner. This reduced microbial load means the product is less likely to aid in the transfer of harmful microbes to another surface.

Food-Contact Approved

Active silver ion as product enhancing technology is listed by EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) as additives which may be used in the manufacturing of plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. It is also registered with the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the United States of America.
